The house rules

01

Cooked more than once

Nothing is published here off the back of a single good evening. Every recipe on Supper has been made at least three times, which is how long it takes to find out which step people actually skip.

02

Say what the step is for

An instruction with no reason attached is one a cook will drop the moment they are in a hurry. If a recipe asks you to wait twenty minutes, it also has to say what happens in them.

03

Be honest about day three

Most recipe sites stop at the plate. Every recipe here says what it keeps like, what to do with the leftovers, and when the answer is that there is no keeping it.
